How Alumni May Help the Society

There are a number of ways you can help today’s cadets and midshipmen of Scabbard & Blade. For a detailed look, go to the national Web site and click the "Boosters" link. Here are some of the key roles for you:

Become a company, regional, or national alumni advisor – alumni are desperately needed to guide and sustain companies. Let us know you are willing to advise an active Scabbard & Blade company, or help to reactivate a company, close to you. We will work with you to make contact with an ROTC program, provide materials, and help support the company.

Serve as a Society alumni mentor. This is a new effort, suitable for alumni of any age, that can be performed over the Society’s new Web site and through email. We will create your profile page on the Web site to indicate you are a Scabbard and Blade mentor, indicating your significant military skills and interests. Cadets and midshipmen will correspond with you through confidential messages. Also ask about transforming your professional experience into book form.

Support a cadet or midshipman in traveling to a national event, and/or help to raise funds to support the Society’s educational efforts.

You may sign up through the on-line application on the Web site. At the home or default page, click on the "Boosters" button and from the drop-down menu select "Volunteer Organization." Read about our volunteer program, then refer to the box on the top right of the page (see box below). Click the underlined word "volunteer" for the on-line volunteer application. Click the "donate" link to begin participation in our donor program. Or, click the "Contact us" link to send an e-mail. Don’t wait – Scabbard & Blade needs your help now!
