Cadet Wilkinson Among First to Wear New Society Honor Cord

Cadet Ashley Wilkinson is among the first Scabbard and Blade members to wear the Society's new honor cord during her graduation. Shown with Wilkinson is her mother, Brenda, and stepfather, David Abel. The honor cord, shown below, is available through the Society online store.

Scabbard and Blade member Ashley Wilkinson only recently graduated from Indiana State University with a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice and currently is continuing her education by going on for a Masters degree.  She joined the Indiana Army National Guard in December of 2006, and went to Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood and AIT at Ft. Huachuca.  Her MOS was 35F Intel Analyst.  Upon returning home, she joined the Army ROTC program through Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, which is ISU's host school for ROTC.

Last year, Cadet Wilkinson's Army ROTC program joined with the Air Force ROTC at Rose-Hulman to re-charter Scabbard and Blade on the campus.  Thus far, members of the company have volunteered for campus beautification and the Exotic Feline Rescue Center.  They also have conducted a fundraising project by pumping gas for local residents in the winter.

"I am currently the 1LT for our Scabbard and Blade company and am very proud of our members in having the attitude to get out there and help our community," stated Wilkinson.
