Brig. Gen. James T. Spivey, Jr., is currently serving as National
Commander of Scabbard and Blade.
Chaplain Spivey is a
graduate of the U.S. Army War College , the U.S. Army Command and
General Staff College, the U.S. Army Chaplain Advanced Course, and the
U.S. Army Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses. His awards and
decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Joint
Meritorious Service Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medals (3), Army
Commendation Medals (3), Army Achievement Medals (2), Meritorious Unit
Commendation, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2), National
Defense Service Medal (2), Southwest Asia Service Medal (Three Service
Stars), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (Bronze Hourglass and M Device), Army
Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon , Army Reserve Components
Overseas Training Ribbon (5), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Emirate of Kuwait). He also earned the
Parachutist Badge and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
