Senior Program for ROTC

Company Charter Information

This program focuses on exposing these future leaders to a wide variety of resources that are based on the Five Star qualities. We do not intend to teach a member a specific curriculum on “how to lead” — but instead,  we encourage members to diversify themselves in knowledge and become the officer they want to be.

Companies can attend or perform:

– Activities or Events that promote the Five Stars

  • Honor
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Officership
  • Unity

– Examples:

  • Leadership development exercises
  • Communication program
  • Host professional speakers
  • Professional skills exercises
  • Historical activities (museums)
  • Community service
  • Mentor activities
  • And many more!

 

Continue to “School Qualifications”

 

School must have:

  • An active ROTC unit located at the requesting school
  • At least one commissioned cadre member must serve as the Company Advisor
  • Four or more ROTC students must qualify, be nominated, and initiated into the Senior Program

 

 

Continue to “Memberships”

 

Senior Membership:

  • Active ROTC student
  • 2nd semester freshmen and up to seniors are eligible for membership
  • Student has demonstrated and shown the potential to consistently demonstrate the Five Star qualities
  • Received recommendation letter from ROTC unit commander*
  • Taken a pledge to become a commissioned officer
  • In good standing with ROTC unit and school

*using the recommendation letter, the ROTC unit commander is allowed to tighten these requirements to improve integrity and health of the Senior Company’s membership

 

 

Continue to “Time Requirements”

At a minimum:

  • Companies must meet at least 3 times a year; at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year
  • Manage and file annual paperwork with the national headquarters

Also, the company must fill the positions below:

  • Company Advisor: Faculty or school staff member,
  • Company Captain (Commander): ROTC student, Senior Company member
  • Company 1st Lieutenant (Vice Commander): ROTC student, Senior Company member
  • Company 2nd Lieutenant (Finance Officer): ROTC student, Senior Company member
  • Company Staff Sergeant (Executive Officer): ROTC student, Senior Company member

Companies are allowed to exceed this time amount as long as it is within reason and has been approved by Company Advisor.

Initial Charter Fee

  • $60 processing fee and  national charter certificate

Annual Dues

  • $40 fixed
  • $10 per active company member
